St. Patrick’s Day Snack Mix
Makes 8 Servings (approx.. 2 Cups each)
Ingredients
- 1- 3 oz. Bag Microwave Popcorn - Popped (10-13 cups)
- 2- Cups Pretzels
- 1/2- Cup M&M's
- 1- Cup Dehydrated Cereal Marshmallows
- 1- Cup Green Candy Melts
- Gold Food Coloring Spray
Instructions:
- Lay pretzels flat on wax paper, parchment paper, foil or something
similar. Spray with gold food coloring spray until coated. Allow to dry
thoroughly, turn over and spray the other side.
- Pop your popcorn.
- Melt the green candy melts in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second
intervals, stirring until completely melted. I used the double boiling
method for mine as it kept the chocolate warmer for a longer period of
time.
- Place popcorn in a large bowl and pour your melted candy melts
over your popcorn and stir until the popcorn is evenly coated. Spread
evenly across a cookie sheet or other flat surface and allow to cool.
- Once the popcorn is cooled mix it with the pretzels, M&M's and marshmallows, mix thoroughly.
Just a few tips:
- The marshmallows and M&M’s will settle to the bottom if not served immediately.
- You can also sprinkle the M&M’s and marshmallows on the popcorn before the candy melts cool and they will stick together and create clumps.
- Pick out the brown M&M’s so it is only rainbow colors.
- You can use traditionally popped popcorn, you need 10-13 cups. It can be seasoned as desired, but if it is drizzled with butter that may prevent the candy melts from coating evenly.
