Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that introduces the MCU’s first stand-alone, female-franchise title character—Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. When we first meet Danvers, she already possesses her superhero powers, having left her earthly life behind and become a member of an intergalactic elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by their enigmatic commander, Yon-Rogg. But after Danvers has trained and worked with the Starforce team, and become a valued member, she finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. While on Earth she quickly lands on the radar of Nick Fury, and they must work together against a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls—the notorious Marvel bad guys made even more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities—and their leader, Talos, who is spearheading a Skrull invasion of Earth.
Captain Marvel is an awesome movie! The story was done so well, it is nice to finally have a Marvel movie with a female lead. Captain Marvel” takes place in the 1990s and the music is phenomenal in this film. It takes me back to high school, a total blast from the past. The movie bridges the gap between last year’s Avengers: Infinity War and this year's. Avengers: Endgame. A great origin and shows us why Nick Fury was trying to page her at the end of Marvel Infinity War.
The new generation of girls will be able to grow up with a strong female Marvel character as a role model. The lead character, Carol Danvers in addition to being a super hero, best friend, daughter, an athlete and fighter pilot. She is the perfect example that there is no limitations to what women can achieve or do!
I don't want to give too much a way, but there are plot twists, characters from past Marvel movies and possibly the introduction of future Marvel superheroes! Plus, there is a cat named Goose in this film. Who knew a cat could be a scene stiller? This is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
