In “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” Clara travels along a golden thread, presented at Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual party, eagerly searching for a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a music box that holds a priceless gift. When she enters a mysterious parallel world, Clara encounters a Nutcracker soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and three Realm regents, including the Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley). Ultimately, she must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve the key and return harmony to the unstable world.

Today is National Puzzle Day, so why not celebrate it with a movie and puzzle night?   Clara in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is the latest kid to join the ranks of other cool kid inventors in film. Not only does she tinker with inventions, but also likes to figure out puzzles.

I truly enjoyed this film.  While the film is based on Christmas Eve; you don't get an overly Christmas feel to the movie, so you can enjoy this film all year.  It starts off with Clara, our main character who gets a gift from her deceased mother, but something is missing. Something is missing. She then goes on an amazing adventure to find what she thinks it missing, but soon realizes it is important to believe in yourself and continue to follow your dreams and passions!

Don't let the critics sway you, it is a great film, even my husband and son enjoyed it.  My teen daughter loved it! This is not the classic Nutcracker ballet, it is definitely a new aged spin on the classic tale!
