More Multiplication Hacks! #GiftedMath

Gifted is being released on Blu-ray on the 25th of this month. To get everyone ready, I will be sharing some fun math activity sheets  all week long!   Today we are going to show you some cool hacks on how to multiple by 8 and easy ways to remember how to multiple by 12!

Quickly Multiply 8

1. Write out the numbers 8-0 adding an extra number 4 (8,7,6,5,4,4,3,2,1). 
2. Now write multiples of 2 next to them, resetting at 10 (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0). 
3. You now have a nifty chart that lists the multiples of 8 from 10 to 1!

Easy ways to remember multiples of 12

1. Write out the numbers 0-12 skipping 5 and 11. 
2. Now write multiples of 2 next to them, resetting at 10 (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0). 
3. This chart shows multiples of 12 from 0 to 10!
