I ordered ribbon online so it would match the team logo. I also ordered Velcro online, unfortunately I ordered the wrong kind! I was able to still make the project work, so I will give you instructions for two ways to make it!
Correct way to make them!
Supplies:
- (2) 7 inch lengths of Grosgrain Ribbon (you can use any width of ribbon/design) - check out Etsy for some super cute patterned ribbon.
- Velcro (not the adhesive kind) cut to match the ribbon width.
- Sewing machine
- Cut two pieces of ribbon to 7 inches in length.
- Next cut your Velcro to match the ribbon width.
- Fold the ribbon over 1/4 inch, and place one side of the Velcro over the raw edge and sew around the Velcro.
- Next flip over the ribbon and repeat. Fold the ribbon over 1/4 inch to cover raw edge, Sew the opposite piece of Velcro to the top of the ribbon.
Supplies:
- (2) 7 inch lengths of Grosgrain Ribbon (you can use any width of ribbon/design) - check out Etsy for some super cute patterned ribbon.
- Velcro - Adhesive kind cut to match the ribbon width.
- Beacon Fabric Tac (found at most craft stores, runs about $5 a bottle)
- Cut two pieces of ribbon to 7 inches in length.
- Next cut your Velcro to match the ribbon width.
- Fold the ribbon over 1/4 inch, and glue with the Fabric Tac. Next add Fabric Tac to the adhesive side of the Velcro and firmly place the Velcro over the freshly glued section.
- Next flip over the ribbon and repeat. Fold the ribbon over 1/4 inch to cover raw edge and glue it down with the Fabric Tac. Then using the opposite piece of Velcro add Fabric Tac to the adhesive side and push down on the top of the ribbon.
- I then covered with wax paper and placed a heavy book on it to hold it in place
