As many schools gear up for the 100th day of school, here are some fun ideas you may want to try with your kids!
Most
schools require the kids to either dress like an 100 yr old or do a
project. Our kids' school does the projects and send home ideas like
counting out a 100 pennies and sending them in, making a log house out
of 100 pretzel rods, etc.
Well for my daughter we opted for our daughter to glue 100 buttons on a shirt! You can sew them too, but that would take longer!
Items needed:
Aileen's Okay to Wash Fabric Glue - $2.99
Cotton Shirt - $3
Bag of buttons (100 min.) - $4
cardboard
wax paper
Place
the card board wrapped in wax paper on the inside of the shirt. This
way the front shirt won't stick to the back of the shirt. Then glue on
100 buttons!
My son opted to do a monster shirt with 100 googly eyes glued on it.
Items needed:
Aileen's Okay to Wash Fabric Glue - $2.99
Cotton Shirt - $3
100 Googly Eyes (I bought mine last year at Target after Valentine's Clearance at $.25 a bag)
Puffy Fabric Paint - $1.29
cardboard
wax paper
You
will need a few days to work on this project. Place the card board
wrapped in wax paper on the inside of the shirt. This way the front
shirt won't stick to the back of the shirt. Help the child draw out
the monster design and allow to dry on a flat surface for a minimum of 4
hours (we let ours dry overnight).
Count
out 100 googly eyes and have child glue them all over the monster. Let
shirt then dry overnight again. Gently peel off wax paper from the
inside of shirt and make sure all eyes are secure on front of shirt.
You may to need to reapply a little glue!
