Halloween is fast approaching and it is time to start planning for your Halloween Party, costumes, treats for trick or treaters, crafts for school and more!

A Halloween Party is not complete without candy! So we made a candy bar!  We used the following items found at Oriental Trading:

• Canister Set IN-13706519 $20.00 for a set of 3
• Bulk Pixy Stix® IN-/K1944 $7.25 a package
• Tootsie Roll® Candies IN-/K1087 $8.99 a package
• Dum Dum® Pops IN-/K68  $9.99 a package

The canisters are glass and have a rubber stopper on it to keep the lids in place.  The set comes with three pieces, ranging in size from 7" - 10 1/2".  Please note these are not food safe, so only use wrapped candy.   I think out of all the candy the Pixy Sicks were a huge hit.  I have not had one since my youth and it brought back so many memories!

Favor Boxes were a must to add candy loot to them for the party goers to take home.The small green boxes were perfect to throw the flashlight and candy in.  Another fun addition was the  Glow-in-the-Dark Shutter Shading Glasses.  They come in a twelve pack for about $9.  

Games are a must. Since the party was in the evening we opted for flashlight tag and a form of Ghosts in the Graveyard!    So we picked up some Mini Halloween Flashlight Key Chains IN-25/2509  (12 pack for $5.99) from Oriental Trading.  Just add batteries and you are ready for  some outdoor fun!

Never played Ghosts in the Graveyard?  Here are some quick and easy instructions!

1. Designate one house's yard  for the playing field. You will need a home base on which everyone can stand or all touch at the same time such as a large tree, front stoop, or back patio.
2. Choose one person to be the "ghost".  Give the ghost a flashlight.
3. Have everyone but the ghost stand at the base while the ghost runs off to hide somewhere in the playing field.
4. Sing slowly as a group,  "One o'clock... two o'clock... three o'clock..." and so on, up to twelve o'clock. Then shout, "Midnight! I hope I don't see the ghost tonight!"
5.  The ghost hunters leave the  base and search for the ghost in the yard. The ghost's job is to jump out, surprise, and tag a player with the flashlight. When anyone encounters the ghost they should yell, "Ghost in the graveyard!" and try to run away. When the ghost catches someone, the new person becomes the only ghost. 

Of course you can not forget to get all the tableware and place settings and that is another place the Oriental trading comes in!  I already had some items at home (prev. purchase from Oriental Trading) and then mixed them with the items sent by Oriental Trading and pulled off some great tables!

All the fans, pom-poms, balloons, table-coverings, silverware, etc.  also were all purchased at Oriental Trading for this party.  I loved that I could find all the items that I needed and did not have to worry about them not matching.  It was so much easier to buy everything from one spot, rather than running from store to store!
