In this spooky adventure, Velma discovers she’s inherited her great-great-uncle Dr. Von Dinkenstein’s cursed castle in the terrifying town of Transylvania…Pennsylvania, that is. Just when the Gang persuades Velma to claim her inheritance, the ghost of Dinkenstein Castle blows up the Mystery Machine as a warning to the group that each of them will lose what is most dear to them if they continue to pursue the mystery of the castle. Now the gang must spring into action to solve the mystery while also dealing with the threats from Dickenstein’s ghost. Can Fred work without his precious Mystery Machine? What happens to Daphne when she loses her good looks? And how will Scooby and Shaggy ever work without their appetites? More importantly, what family secret has Velma been hiding all along?

My son is a Scooby Doo fanatic and was ecstatic when this movie arrived. I honestly did not realize that it was Velma on the cover of the DVD until we sat down and watched it. In this movie, we learn more about Velma! She inherits a creepy castle in Transylvania, but not the Transylvania we all know, this is in Pennsylvania! Doesn't matter the location, as creepy and mysteries follow the gang where ever they go!
There is a part of the movie where Daphne seems to pack on the pounds and her hair turn into a frizzy mess. She went on wailing about it and I was worried at first this would make kids concerned about not being the perfect size, but she did realize she was being superficial. Best part was when she made a comment about how she looked and Fred said he didn't notice that she always looked good to him,t. made me swoon a little bit.
What I love the most was at the end (no spoilers here), is when we learned who culprit(s) really were and how they tied into previous episodes/movies. My son, since he is a fanatic could easily point out where he saw them before. He was so excited about the ending that he said this was his absolute favorite Scooby film so far!
