I used the same toothpaste that I normally use, along side this toothbrush + built in whitening pen.  It is super easy to use, just turn the dial at the bottom of the whitening pen, and it applied the gel which contains hydrogen peroxide directly to my teeth. It only takes seconds to apply and adhere.  There is no waiting time or need to rinse.  I must say, I was afraid it would be like the strips and hurt, but there was no pain or  sensitivity. 

I am in love with this and it is perfect for a travel brush or everyday brush.  My only con, was the price.   It ran $15-18 depending on the store.
