I honestly admit it, I had no clue what this movie was about going into watching it with hubby. He insisted the other night that we must watch it and that I would enjoy it. The film focuses on 47 samurai who are without a master (Ronin) and how they band together to avenge the death of their master. Keanu Reeves is looked down upon as he is considered a "half-breed", but even though he is not samurai, he posses some mad skills. This movie also has a bit of a love story, but it is more focused on doing what is right and honoring their fallen master. The Ronin all must make a choice, a choice that they know can cost them their lives, but it is the noble and just route to go. You will also see mythical creatures and witches in this interpretation of the 47 Ronin story.
As a female viewer, I thought it was a decent storyline, loved the colors, the settings (I have been to Japan 2x!), the action scenes, etc. It was a surprising good movie. Husband on the other hand LOVED it and thought it was amazing! It is a dude movie, but girls will enjoy it too! An overall good movie on integrity and honor.
