The 2013 Summit Racing Equipment I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama Presented by Lincoln Electric was at the I-X Center this weekend!
Kids of all ages were able to enjoy a wide variety of interactive displays. There was a NOSTR obstacle course in remote controlled Rock Crawlers and Off-Road Vehicles. My kids were able to ride in the All American Soap Box Derby’s Indoor Rally. They each got two turns at the race and they had a blast! There was also two giant monster trucks, the Screamin' Demon and Big Foot on display!
Not only were there cars, race cars, motorcycles, military vehicles, but a couple of planes as well! There was also a "King-Kong" sized display that features a B-25J Medium Bomber from the Liberty Air Museum, the nine cylinder radial engines of two T-28Bs, and The Cleveland Wing of the Commemorative Air Force’s SNJ4. Learn about aviation from the Discover Aviation Center and visit the Lorain County Remote Control Club.
Featured pit areas showcased unique displays like the National Tractor Pulling Championships, Hutter Performance’s Dyno, The North Coast Ohio Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Antique Outboard Motor Club, NEO Chapter of the American Historical Truck Society. Community Partners include: The Lake County Juvenile Diabetes Walk Family, Our Lady of the Wayside, USO of Northern Ohio, Championship Kart Racing Association and the Quarter Scale Auto Club.
When we arrived the line to get tickets was LONG, but once you enter the I-X center, you don't even notice the people, just the cars! My son was in his element here. He had a little skip to his step as he excitedly pulled us to each exhibit. It was impressive to see all the vehicles on display and all the hard work that went into the custom designs, paint jobs, etc.
The I-X Center has events all year long. Some of the upcoming events are:
