Nickajack Farms is located in the beautiful rolling hills around North Lawrence, just west of Canton, Ohio. The farm covers 120 acres, with several buildings, stables, indoor and outdoor arenas, and farm land.
Pumpkins & Hayrides. Next week they open their doors for their Fall Festival! Today the family and I got to attend a sneak peak preview event!
Admission in to the Fall Festival is $7 a person, or you can pay a la cart for attractions! It is Open to the Public Daily from September 17 through October 31, from 11am till dark! Please note you will need to have cash or checks!
There is so much to see and do, so plan for a couple hours! The kids enjoyed pumpkin bowling, pumpkin plinko, pumpkin putt-putt and more. Everything is kid friendly! No scarey Halloween images, just wholesome fall fun. Try your luck at one of two corn mazes, race a rubber ducky, run thru a hay maze and race your pumpkins down a ramp. The corn mazes covers about 7 acres, and to find your way out, you need to answer our farm-related questions at various stops along the way.
We hit pumpkin patches with the kids every year, but have never experienced a patch like this. It was truly amazing! Joe was our hay ride driver and answered all our questions about pumpkins. It was not only a fun day, but educational! Did you know the huge pumpkins start out as yellow, while other pumpkins start out as green. He had almost every type of pumpkin available, Cinderella, white, normal round ones, the massive large ones, etc. I can honestly say, I have never walked thru a patch with so many varieties!
The fun did not stop at the tent and activities at the base of the farm. We hopped in the car (or you could walk) and drove up to the farm and experienced Rascals Round Up, The Discovery Barn and the petting zoo. The petting zoo area offered up a dozen or so animals. I could of spent hours there petting the donkeys. They were so loveable. A pig that was dreaming and making the most hilarious snorting sounds in his sleep topped it off!
The Discovery Barn offered hands-on learning for children and families. My son loved watching the corn go up the belt, my daughter learning about eggs and chickens, etc. I loved all the information and murals. The owners really put a lot on time into this building and it was so educational! The final thing we did was head over to Rascals Round Up, which offered Midway Games that challenge your skills with bean bags, bowling with pumpkins, and other fun carnival type activities. There were playgrounds and family picnic areas. A silly string shoot out and the brand new peddle cars. All four of us hopped onto a peddle car and took a whirl at the course. It was so much fun! There were cars for adults and kids. It is a separate fee, but totally worth the experience. My husband now wants a peddle car!
Not only did they have all these fun activities, but they also have the Wagon Wheel, where you can grab a bite to eat. Don't forget to also check out the HUGE selection of pumpkins in lots of sizes and colors. There also have You'll also fall decorations, including gourds, Indian Corn, corn stalks, and straw bales. Make sure to bring your camera as you can see there are tons of photo opps!
