Blue Orange Games Reinvents Story Time with Tell Tale Fairy Tales Review

If picture is worth a thousand words, imagine the possibilities with 120 inspiring images! Cards featuring iconic characters like wizards and princesses, settings like a castle and forest, and fantastic creatures such as unicorns and dragons, will guide players through their own unique tale.

There are four different ways to play Tell Tale Fairy Tales, but never a wrong way. For example, in “Round n’ Round” players cooperate to develop a communal tale, and in “Showtime,” players can invent their story individually. Players are sure to come up with their own favorite approach.

Blue Orange suggests that parents and guardians play Tell Tale after tucking their little ones in bed. To tell a new personalized bedtime story every night, parents can create a tale to match their children’s mood or current interest by using 10 cards of their child’s choice.

Tell Tale Fairy Tales builds language skills and teaches narrative structure. In the classroom, the game is great for spicing up creative writing exercises.

No matter how you play it, the wonderful illustrations and library of images will whisk players away to another time and place in just a few words. The distinctive design allows fairy tales to start once upon a time and end happily ever after anywhere.

I recently received the  game and the kids and I had a blast playing it last night!  We played it outside by the fire waiting on the s'mores!  I even found them today playing it together in my daughter's room.  It is a creative spin on story telling.  Although there are 4 ways to play the game, we even added another way!   After the kids got done with their stories, we all flipped out cards and laughed and tried to create stories from the random cards in front of us.  The best part of the night was listening to my 5 year old son, he looked at his cards (wizard, prince, wolf, etc.) and started his story with "The wizard spelled the prince into a wolf".   Seriously, it was the cutest thing ever!  I am in love with this game, not only is it fun, but it gets the creative juices flowing!  This is the perfect game for the summer, let the kids have fun, but learn in the process!
