Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension

Sometimes us bloggers get to take part in some really cool events. This past Friday night was just one of those cool events! The premiere of the brand-new Disney Channel original movie, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension was on TV and a  few of us bloggers were asked to host a premiere party at out homes! We got to share the love of Phineas and Ferb with some fellow parents and their children and watch the amazing new movie!

Phineas and Ferb is the hit animated Emmy Award-winning series, which follows two stepbrothers, Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who set out to conquer boredom and make every day of their 104-day summer vacation count, However their older sister, Candace, gets frantic at her brothers' extraordinary adventures and makes it her life's work to tattle on them to Mom and Dad… but somehow she's never quite able to prove what the boys have done. Phineas and Ferb are accompanied by their pet platypus, Perry, who seems to be a docile, mindless family pet, but unbeknownst to everyone, including Phineas and Ferb, Perry has a secret life as suave Agent P, deftly battling the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz to save the world.

Synopsis:
In this animated adventure based on Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning comedy series “Phineas and Ferb,” stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb go on their biggest journey yet, into another dimension! When the boys finally discover that their beloved pet platypus Perry is in fact a secret agent who battles the forces of evil daily, they join him on a grand adventure that blasts them to another dimension where a truly evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz has taken over an alternate Tri-state Area. When they uncover his ploy to travel back to their dimension to take over their Tri-state Area, the gang, as well as their alter-egos, must band together to stop him.  Meanwhile, Candace is convinced that she will lose Jeremy before he heads off to college.

 This is a great movie that the entire family can enjoy.   Our family are big fans of Phineas & Ferb, parents included. We had a variety of ages in attendance for the party.  This movie is full of wit, humor and imagination, it catches the attention of kids and adults alike.  We loved how the movie tied in a number of scenes from episodes.

This movie is a lot better than some of the kid films at the theatres.   We DVR'ed it and plan on watching it again and again!  The DVD release is later this month, but you can pre-order it on Amazon.com for $15.99 Free Standard Shipping (3-5 days).

The great people at Disney sent me masks, tattoos and  drawstring bags to give to the guests of the party!  Well being a frugal blogger, the first thing I did was set off to find reasonable party decor, treats and gift bag items!    Well Target's $1 spot had a number of great Phineas and Ferb items for just $1!  So of course I had to pick some of them up!!!

So here is what I did with all the gear:

Goodie bags:  Did not know all the Phineas and Ferb items out until I started shopping for them.  The fruit snacks were a hit!  The super cool bags and such the items provided by Disney!!!

Agent P was hiding in our speaker!

Food... can't have a party without food!   So I made Perry the Platypus cookies, served with sub sandwiches, veggies, chips and crescent dogs!

Along with the movie, Phineas and Ferb have more summer fun in store for us!  July 11 kicked off the "Perry the Platy-bus On Tour". During this coast-to-coast journey from New York City to Anaheim, fans are invited to marvel at nearly 4,000 pounds of Perry, go aboard the trailer, play the exciting new online game and video games, sing Perry-oke and more. Admission is free!

I encourage you to tune into Disney as  Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension has been replayed since its premiere or pick it up on DVD on the 23rd!   I have not enjoyed a kid's movie like this in a long time!  It did not disappoint!
