This is a guest post by a friend of mine I met on a coupon trading board. She is a strong fabulous woman who sales fabulous purses!!!!
Two Ole Hags with Bags came about when one Ole Hag decided to sell purses in her hair salon back in May of 2010. That Ole Hag would be me, Lynn Withers. Who wouldn't buy a purse at a hair salon, right? Well, this other Ole Hag, we will just call her Anne Hagedorn, decided that purses would be fun to sell too. So, we paired up and became Two Ole Hags with Bags. We aren't really old and I guess you probably wouldn't call us hags either. But, we wear our name with pride. And, by our name, can you tell we like to have fun and joke around?
Fast forward to October 28 at the hair salon. It was a day like any other day except that it was a very busy day because it was Holiday Open Houses in our town. We had a fabulous day and even enjoyed a few minutes of relaxation and reminiscing about our fabulous day before we all left to go home. The next morning, we were awakened by an early morning phone call that the hair salon was on fire. We rushed to the salon to see that the firemen had extinguished the fire but there was lots of damage.
Many, many tears were cried that morning. We were allowed to go inside and see where the fire originated. It had burned thru the floor and up thru the ceiling and everything in that room was a complete loss. We noticed things were a little out of place but the firemen had not been careful when trying to extinguish the fire. They had knocked stuff all about and made a mess. So, we didn't immediately realize that there were things missing as well.
We then went home to shower and call the insurance company and make a game plan for the day. Then we went back to the salon and noticed the cash register was GONE and so were several other things. At this point we realized that there was more to it than just a fire. The police were called back and after many hours of looking, answering questions and investigations by several "agencies". It was determined that the hair salon had been broken into, robbed and then had a fire the same evening.
Long story short, we lost everything in that fire. We are back up and going with our purses and hope to have the salon re-opened before Christmas. Many tears have been cried thru this whole thing. But, I am a firm believer in the fact that God only gives us what we can handle and that many prayers helped us thru this whole thing.
I would love for you to take a look at our items and even "Like" our page on Facebook. Maybe, you can even do a little Christmas shopping.
Thanks for taking the time to read our story and check us out.
